How We Work

We recognize that, in order to fully understand and appreciate your organization’s needs and how you operate, we will be sharing some extremely sensitive information, information that is considered confidential and often proprietary to your organization. So that information and ideas can be exchanged freely, we have a standard Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) that specifies our obligations with respect to your organization’s confidential and proprietary information. We typically provide our NDA to you for review and execution prior to our initial meeting.

We offer two basic engagement methods, Fixed-Price contracts and Time & Materials contracts. Both types have their advantages and disadvantages, depending on the scope of work to be performed and the overall contract value.

Fixed-Price Contracts

Fixed priced contracts are often requested so clients will know the overall costs at the beginning of the project. This is beneficial for budgeting purposes; however, it is recommended that clients plan for some costs and time overages. The reason most overages occur is due to changing requirements after development has begun or because new information is provided by the client after the requirements have been established. Fixed-Price contracts are best suited for smaller, short-term projects with a highly defined scope of work.

Time & Materials Contracts

These contracts offer more flexibility and allow a project to adjust to changing needs or unknown circumstances. They are also the most cost effective for larger or long-term projects, especially if the work load is expected to vary from month to month. These are also well suited for projects that need periodic attention or are cyclic in nature. Even with a Time & Materials contract, each client is provided a detailed cost/time estimate for each project.

Regardless of the contract type, E-ware strives to provide an accurate time and cost estimate for each project. If changes in scope that affect the estimated time and/or cost arise, the client is notified as soon as the situation is recognized and an adjustment to the time/cost estimate is provided. The changes in scope will not be incorporated into the project until the client has approved the scope changes and authorized the changes to the schedule and project budget.
